Obsidian Construction Services Ltd (OBCS) was formed in the summer of 2014 as a global consulting business specializing in aviation. In 2021, the company expanded its operations to include construction services alongside its primary offerings. In 2022, OBCS began working outside the UK in partnership with aviation civil engineering specialists, enabling the company to provide comprehensive services across the design, tender, construction, and handover phases of project lifecycles. Starting in 2024, with the merger of additional engineering companies, OBCS aims to deliver clients a skilled management and site team to ensure high standards of quality and value in their projects.
OBCS achieves its targets using collaborative working methods, being flexible and using the team’s experience to help the client understand and realise their needs. The team believe strongly in success through effective communication and a non-confrontational, open working relationship with our clients and supply chain.
Individually and collectively, the OBCS team are used to working in the Safety Critical Environments of Highways, Ports, Oil & Gas, Military and Aviation. The team have an excellent understanding of the requirements of the UK Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and have the experience to protect the client and ensure safety on their sites.
The team have worked on environmentally sensitive projects individually and as a group and aim to reduce the impact of construction on the environment by using simple but effective measures such as specifying and sourcing timber from sustainable supplies and raising awareness of the importance and impact of site efficiencies on carbon emissions.
We follow processes detailed within our company management system and have a document control system that ensures version control. This system has been designed to be flexible, allowing us to integrate with client document control systems where applicable, and also give the client full visibility of progress during the design & construction phases of any project.
